Undercover Operation: Bra -(ABC's and DEF's)

Do your boobs sag low? do they wobble to and fro? Chances are they do -eight out of 10 women are wearing the wrong bra! Not only can the right bra eliminate sagging, it can make you appear slimmer and take years off your looks. -Oprah

In this article I'm compelled to be your "breast" friend, after reading The Bra Book by Jene' Luciani, and to be honest, after digging deep, it was a shocking revelation just how many of us are ignorant. Major bra mistakes, and bra shopping seems difficult than it has to be! Even the chicest of us have little messy secrets behind closed drawers and it's with great pleasure that i am sharing this with you and hopefully by the end of it all, i will have given you a new way to approach bra shopping and flaunt an updated look.

"There is a reason why they are called foundation garments: clothes look better because you are lifted or sleeked in the right places, and your spirit nourished by the cute stylish, seductive stuff," says Sandra Saffle, national lingerie stylist. We can't live without this foundations but finding one that fits well, lifts and separates the way it's supposed to, and how to care for them is the trickiest part i concurred.

Some of the tips guaranteed to boost and lift your out look:

Size. Size matters a lot! But how can one tell if it's the right size? your breasts should fill the cup size but not spill or pop over. And if by any chance your band rides up in the back or causes your straps to fall then you probably need to go down a band size. "For a lean and small back and to lift the bust, the bra should be level front to back and the perfect position for your breast is midway between your shoulders and elbows," says Susan Nethero, president of intimacy, a bra-fitting business.

Get fitted. No guess work. Though majority of us skips this crucial stage! Have your chest measured to find your band size, lift the breast tissue up when measuring so the tape snug on the rib cage. The measuring tape should also be secured low and snug on the back not too high or that will cause the band to ride up and the cup to fall forward giving you a heavy look. Have you been doing it correctly? Well, now you got the secret to a perfect bra support.

Be open minded. It's been recorded that most ladies are ever in cup denial. Fact is, one will feel more comfortable and attractive in the correct cup size, whether it's an AAA to an N (today bra max is way beyond the usual D, discover yours). When buying a bra, it's advised to make sure it fits in the loosest hook, that way you can tighten the bra to the second and third hook as the bra ages and retain the firmness and the bust lift. While brand new, bras are suppose to feel snug at first, like a shoe, they will stretch to fit correctly.

Plus size bust. To go for the right cup size, big-busted women should lift their arms up after securing the bra band to make sure they are not dropping out of the bottom of the cup. If there is spillage, then the cup size is too small. Since big-busted women are at risk of looking heavier than they actually are, under wire bras are essential, they help push the breasts forward as well as upward enough to make them look like they've got a waist, and maybe even lost a few pounds. If the under wire bra isn't comfortable, then you got the wrong size.

Petite women. Should go for bras with defined cups. With no need for heavy-duty support, a structured cup helps accentuate the body's silhouette under clothing. Genie bra is recommended as a great option, looks flawless under clothes and feels comfortable. Small breasts can be bolstered with gel inserts to push cleavage when wearing certain fabrics. No more feeling left out! Yippee...

Stock up. Every modern woman must have variety. Jene' Luciani recommends at least a pair of each -nude bras, black bras, strapless or convertible style, seamless, wireless bras for comfort. Rich color lingerie, witty prints, even lace and embroidery can be fun exploring.

Re-measure and Replace. Make a rule out of it. Bras stretch and wear out. Plus, your breast and body shape may change size over the years. Treat yourself to a new bra every now and then. It's a necessity that will help you look and  feel more vibrant. Lets spoil ourselves for a good cause girlfriends.

Wash often. Did you know you're supposed to wash your bras in between every single use? Frankly, i didn't. Well, this is wasup, the oil from our skin breaks down the elasticity of the fabric, and bras should be changed throughout the week to retain shape and support. Hand wash in lukewarm water and mild detergent and hang to dry. If washing in a machine, use the gentle cycle and hang them to dry. Never put on dryer, the heat damages the elastic. After all is said and done, we need to store them correctly, don't bend one cup into the other, instead, lay them flat one on top of the other to preserve their shape.

Was this useful to you? Do you feel enlightened enough to curb the usual bra turn-offs you've been encountering? A successful makeover needs a strong foundation, support, and comfort will automatically be your ally. The bust lift gives you a fresh, younger look and a hourglass figure. Flaunt them ladies. Much love.

Sharing is caring. Help enlighten others in your circle too.  Girl power!
